Since 2014, SDH Services are proud to have held the FIRAS accreditation for the application and installation of Passive Fire Protection systems.

FIRAS, is the independent third party certification scheme for contractors who install both active and passive fire protection systems.  It is operated by Warringtonfire, who are part of Element, the market leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification services. 

Since the certification started in 1994 FIRAS has been instrumental in improving the standards of installation and maintenance of both passive and active fire protection products and systems within the construction industry. 

In order to gain this accreditation, following both office and site audits, SDH Services were able to demonstrate that all onsite Operatives (both Supervisors and Technicians) were competent in carrying out their practical and technical roles and that all office managements systems satisfied the audit requirements.  

A register of competent employees is maintained for each certified company, which is regularly reviewed to ensure the company maintains a competent workforce whose abilities remain current with the scope of works provided. 

FIRAS then carry out regular random inspections of the installation works on ongoing contracts along with an annual office audit to ensure full compliance with the scheme. 

Once a project is undertaken, SDH Services log all details into the FIRAS online database.  From this upon completion of each project a Certificate of Conformity (Compliance) is issued
